Dallas, TX — Wreck on N Central Exoy Leaves One Dead, Multiple Hurt

Dallas, TX (May 10, 2026) — A tragic multi-vehicle collision on Sunday, May 10, claimed the life of an adult woman and left a young person in serious condition.

Dallas Police responded to the major accident at approximately 3:56 a.m. on North Central Expressway (US-75) near the North Henderson Avenue interchange.

According to the preliminary investigation, a silver pickup truck was traveling northbound when the driver suddenly veered across two lanes of traffic, striking a concrete barrier and a support pillar.

The force of the impact sent the silver truck back into the roadway, where it collided with a red pickup truck. The second vehicle was forced into the concrete barrier and came to a rest in the travel lanes.

The silver truck continued forward before striking the barrier a second time. There were five occupants in the silver truck at the time of the crash.

All four passengers were transported to a local trauma center, where an adult female later died from her injuries. A young passenger remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The driver and passenger of the red truck were also evaluated at a hospital for injuries.

The driver of the silver truck was arrested at the scene and is facing pending charges as investigators work to determine if speed or impairment were factors in the crash.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the woman who lost her life. We also wish everyone hurt a full and steady recovery.

Your Legal Rights After a Fatal Multi-Passenger Wreck in Dallas?

In Dallas, when a collision results in a fatality and serious injuries to passengers, the legal rights of the victims are governed by wrongful death statutes and complex insurance liability rules.

To protect your family's rights, you must secure the official crash report, preserve any evidence, and consult a professional to navigate the challenges of pursuing a claim when multiple victims are competing for the same insurance policy limits.

When a passenger tragically loses their life, the immediate family members (spouse, children, or parents) have the right to file a Wrongful Death claim.

This allows the family to seek compensation for the loss of financial support, companionship, and emotional trauma.

Additionally, a Survival Action can be filed to recover damages for the pain and suffering the victim experienced prior to their passing.

A Dallas personal injury lawyer can ensure the estate is properly opened and that these distinct legal paths are pursued within Texas' strict statutes of limitations.

In a crash involving multiple occupants across multiple vehicles, the at-fault driver's insurance policy limits may be insufficient to cover all the damages.

Hence, a solid investigation should focus on whether there is excess or umbrella coverage available.

Furthermore, an attorney will evaluate your own Underinsured Motorist (UIM) coverage to see if it can be activated to fill the gap.

A well-timed coordination among these various insurance layers is critical to ensuring that the most severely injured victims, and the family of the deceased, are not left with uncompensated losses due to a limited policy.
