Police said five people in total were transported to hospitals, including the driver of the GMC Sierra and a passenger from the second vehicle. Injuries among the remaining victims have not been fully detailed.
The driver was arrested and booked into the Dallas County Jail on charges including manslaughter and intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.

What Legal Options May Be Available After a High-Speed Impaired Driving Crash in Texas?
After a high-speed crash in Texas involving suspected impaired driving, victims and families often have questions about what legal options may be available. These cases typically involve both criminal proceedings and separate civil claims that focus on financial recovery for injuries, medical costs, and other losses connected to the crash.
Multi-vehicle expressway collisions can result in severe injuries because vehicles are often traveling at high speeds with limited time to react. When impairment is suspected, investigators may review toxicology results, witness statements, and physical evidence such as open containers or field sobriety findings. These details can become important in both criminal and civil reviews of the incident.
Injured passengers and drivers may face hospital stays, ongoing treatment, and time away from work. Some injuries, such as broken bones or internal trauma, may require long recovery periods. Additionally, because multiple people are often involved, insurance claims can become more complex and may require detailed documentation of medical care and accident circumstances.
